PRAYER

“All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (Mark 11:24)

Prayer is the process of turning our attention to God in order to experience His presence, power and love.  Prayer is used to change our minds and hearts so that God’s love may fill us and be revealed in our lives.  Then we set in motion the Law of Love.  And we have faith, knowing that God can only give us what we accept, realizing the power and presence of Spirit in every situation.  As we set aside some quiet time to talk to God daily, we notice that this practice will have profound effects on all aspects of our lives.

Every condition, every illness or problem that we experience, is the result of a negative idea somewhere in our subconscious, which is actuated by a charge of fear.  One aspect of the power of prayer is that prayer works by healing our subconscious minds.  Prayer works by changing our minds, which directly affects our bodies and circumstances.   When the prayer of faith penetrates our subconscious and neutralizes the false images, then our illnesses, as well as ill circumstances, are healed.

There have been numerous studies on the power of prayer.  One of the most profound examples that I read about was a study done in a hospital.  There was a group of people who had been diagnosed with cancer.  In the study, they split the group into two sections; one section would be prayed for on a daily basis by a local prayer group and the others would not.  Both groups received the same type of treatments at the hospital.  The doctors were not aware of which group was being prayed for.  By the end of the study, several of those prayed for had shown a great improvement in their health, and three were diagnosed as cancer free.  The other group showed little improvement in their conditions.

Our prayers do not need to be elaborate.  They can be simple and to the point.  But the most important aspect regarding prayer is that we are to pray in quiet confidence knowing that our prayers will be answered.  We must ask in faith, believing, because God can only give us what we will accept.    We must release any thoughts or feelings of guilt, littleness, and unworthiness, realizing that God would like to give us good things.  We are to have faith that our prayers will be answered.  We must accept His blessings.

Our prayers can consist of praise and thanksgiving; focusing on the realization of “Through God all things are possible”.  We can pray with a joyful heart.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven

Hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come

Thy will be done

On earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

And for give us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil

For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory.

Forever and ever.     Amen.

ORIGINAL OF THE LORD’S PRAYER

(From the records of Jesus’ life 50 years after the crucifixion, found in a monastery which they occupied.)

God our Father

You stand revealed to us this day as the ever present Principle.  Hallowed be your name; we know it as Elohim.  Give us to live and know this day as you, God, alone see us living and knowing, ever pure and perfect, as you have revealed your Perfection to man.  And that Perfection has come forth as your son, your only creation.  The only one through which you manifest.  Give us to know your son.  For to know you as you know man is to know ourselves.  For in knowing this, we are not led into any way save your way.  And thus we know that this is the God way for us.  God our Father, we see clearly each day that we may and do forgive every trespass that man has brought forth into this Kingdom.  Thus we are not tempted to set up man’s creations for your creations.  God our Father, again we say, hallowed be the name God.  God our Father.

5 Step Prayer

This is an Affirmative Prayer that moves us through the process of: 1) Focusing our attention on the attributes of God.  2) Stating our connection to God through the Spirit.  3) Stating the Spiritual Truth about a given person or situation.  By doing this we can transform the way we perceive a particular problem or situation.  4) We release our statements to the power of God to bring them forth.  5) We close the prayer with gratitude, knowing that our prayers have been answered.

God is ….. Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Omniscience.  All knowing, all loving, everywhere present.  (Whatever best describes God to you.)

I am …..  A child of God.  An expression of God.  A spiritual being having a human experience.  Connected to all that is.  Alive and alight in God’s loving presence. (Focus on the perfection of who you truly are at your Soul level.)

The Truth is …..  God’s perfection is present in each and every situation.  Love is all there is.  I am in perfect vibrant health.  God is bigger than any seeming difficulty.  We are all one.  (State the Truth about a given person or situation from a spiritual perspective.)

Release …..  I release all error of thinking, all judgment, all fear thoughts.  I release anything that I am holding that blocks God’s Spirit from moving through my life.  I release all to God.  I know that this (whatever I am praying for) is manifesting in my life now. (Release any negative thoughts or feelings from your mind.  Release all to God’s power to transform and manifest.)

Gratitude …..  And so I say thank You for all these blessings.  I am grateful for God’s presence in my life.  And so it is. (Thank God.)

Saint  Theresa's  Prayer

May  today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be confident knowing you are a child of God.

Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

It is there for each and every one of us.

Prayer

God, You are all powerful, all knowing, all loving, everywhere present.

We are Your children, open vessels of Your loving presence.

The Truth is God, Your perfection is present in each and every situation.
Love is all there is.

We release all error of thinking, all judgment, and all fear thoughts.  We release anything that we are holding that blocks God’s Spirit from moving through our lives.

We release all this to You God.

And we thank You for Your love and presence in our lives.

Now and forever                     Amen                  Thank You God
